La Joie (which means "joy" in French), started in our hearts many many years ago. Bryan and Kate have always sought to strengthen families and serve our community through food service. Our own families have rich heritage gathering around the tables at mealtime, creating memories together while enjoying international multi-cultural cuisine. Kate developed a love for creating pastries, while Bryan worked his craft on the grill and creating memorable sauces and dips. Together, with their six children, they dreamed of one day sharing their passion with others. From small events to large scale weddings and corporate events, they found their way into dreaming of a brick and mortar storefront in Redding, CA.
As they grew, more and more people were experiencing pastries in a new way - such, that they began to notice a pattern of "joie" as people tasted food and pastry that was created with love. Now, they are embarking on fulfilling yet another dream - opening a storefront location in a city that they have come to love and call home - in Redding, CA.
"I believe that La Joie provides a place for people to experience love on a plate. For us, our food is an extension of our hearts - and we welcome each of our guests as family. You know, I think it's possible for food to not only bring connection, but also healing. Sometimes it's as simple as eating something glorious for us to be reminded that there are beautiful things in life - and in that, we find "la joie".

A nod to the French classic, our Mille-feuille is layers and layers of golden puff pastry dough filled with fresh fruits and mascarpone cream. We have variations of this pastry, as well as its original form, served with layers of custard and fresh berries.
Our personal favorite, the Koiugn-amann (pronounced queen - ah mahn), is our laminated butter dough sprinkled with sugar in each layer, and then baked to golden carmelized perfection. This lightly sweet pastry might* just change your life.
Make a croissant, but better. The Renossant is La Joie's version of a croissant, renovated and modernized. Don't get us wrong, the classic will stand the test of time for ages to come...but we like to shake things up a bit. The Renossant is a large, round, laminated butter dough, filled with creams, custards and pralines.

Let's just say you're gonna want to try them all. From our signature strawberry shortcake cake, to the rich indulgence of our chocolate peanut butter, to the nostalgic tastes like burnt almond cake, carrot cake, or not your granny's German chocolate, we have some of the best cakes out there, all made by us here at La Joie. Elevated flavors like Earl Grey and rose, Matcha and Lemon Cream, Bananas Foster also find their way into our lineup of cakes!
Personal size, small size (feeds 6), and regular size (feeds 10-12) are available. We've heard the feedback, and...yall don't take our cheesecakes lightly, so we don't either! Seasonal varieties available, as well as our vanilla bean, triple chocolate, and lemon.
Layers of mousse, sponge cake, fruit coulis make up these decadent little treats. This is the ultimate dessert experience!
We love our guests and can't wait to welcome you into our new space! Until then, we are welcoming online orders and pickups to our commercial kitchen. Our anticipated launch date is Sept 1, 2025. Please follow us on social media to stay connected with our offerings and space updates!

We are in the kitchen Monday - Friday weekly. Orders can be scheduled for pickup anytime before noon on any week day.
