La Joie Bakery was born from the vision of Kate & Bryan Grennell, a husband-and-wife team who believed that food could do more than fill a plate - it could create connection, spark conversation, and heal relationships. As parents of six, they understood the importance of creating space for intentional connection, and that space is always enriched by a great meal.
What began as just a "nudge" of an idea, shaped in the quiet hours between family life and late-night baking, has grown into a bakery defined by intention and excellence. Every pastry reflects a dedication to a craft they love, every guest is welcomed with warmth, and every detail - down to the last swirl of buttercream, is infused with heart.
From weddings and corporate event to everyday celebrations, La Joie has become a place where food meets meaning. The Grennells' mission is simple yet profound: to raise the standard of what a bakery can be, blending innovation with tradition, and serving love on a plate.

A nod to the French classic, our Mille-feuille is layers and layers of golden puff pastry dough filled with fresh fruits and mascarpone cream. We have variations of this pastry, as well as its original form, served with layers of custard and fresh berries.
Our personal favorite, the Koiugn-amann (pronounced queen - ah mahn), is our laminated butter dough sprinkled with sugar in each layer, and then baked to golden carmelized perfection. This lightly sweet pastry might* just change your life.
Make a croissant, but better. The Renossant is La Joie's version of a croissant, renovated and modernized. Don't get us wrong, the classic will stand the test of time for ages to come...but we like to shake things up a bit. The Renossant is a large, round, laminated butter dough, filled with creams, custards and pralines.

Let's just say you're gonna want to try them all. From our signature strawberry shortcake cake, to the rich indulgence of our chocolate peanut butter, to the nostalgic tastes like burnt almond cake, carrot cake, or not your granny's German chocolate, we have some of the best cakes out there, all made by us here at La Joie. Elevated flavors like Earl Grey and rose, Matcha and Lemon Cream, Bananas Foster also find their way into our lineup of cakes!
Personal size, small size (feeds 6), and regular size (feeds 10-12) are available. We've heard the feedback, and...yall don't take our cheesecakes lightly, so we don't either! Seasonal varieties available, as well as our vanilla bean, triple chocolate, and lemon.
Layers of mousse, sponge cake, fruit coulis make up these decadent little treats. This is the ultimate dessert experience!
